Courses are delivered in a hybrid format, combining online learning with in-person labs and clinical rotations. LPNs with a current, unrestricted license and proof of having completed an approved PN program are eligible to receive block credits in the following areas:

• Anatomy and Physiology I (AHP216)
• Fundamentals of Human Nutrition (SCI115)
• Human Growth and Development (PSY278)
• Foundations of Nursing (NUR104)

If students have completed a similar course in Informatics, they may also receive credit for CMP105.

These block credits are awarded without a full transcript evaluation, although official transcripts must be submitted. The credits are marked as “CR” on the academic record and reduce the total course load.

The rest of the program includes a mix of general education and core nursing courses. Topics include:

To qualify for the ADN program as an LPN, applicants must meet several admission criteria:

• Be at least 18 years old to begin the nursing program
• Hold a current, valid, unencumbered LPN license
• Provide official transcripts showing completion of an approved practical nursing program
• Maintain an active license for the duration of the program
• Meet general education standards including a high school diploma or equivalent

Graduates of Fortis or MedVance Institute PN programs may be provisionally admitted but must obtain a valid LPN license before the end of the first term

Students enrolling in the hybrid format must have access to a computer with at least 8GB of RAM (16GB recommended), a webcam, speakers or headphones, and high-speed internet. Chromebooks are not supported, and students are expected to use Windows 11 or Mac OSX with up-to-date software including Microsoft Office 365.

LPN students must keep their license in good standing. Any change in license status (such as suspension or expiration) must be reported in writing within 24 hours. Failure to maintain a valid license can result in removal from the program.

Academic performance expectations align with preparing for licensure. Courses are focused on building both clinical and theoretical skills, and students are expected to be prepared for hands-on clinical work as well as online assignments and testing.
